The rollout on Wednesday marks the initial model debut under the leadership of Alexandr Wang, who transitioned from Scale AI last year to direct Meta's Superintelligence Labs and restructure the technology giant's artificial intelligence initiatives.
Market analytics from Appfigures indicate a rapid ascent in user acquisition. Prior to the Muse Spark release on Wednesday, the Meta AI application held the 57th position on the United States App Store. By Thursday, the software had climbed to the fifth spot, reflecting a massive influx of new user installations.
Additional metrics from Sensor Tower highlight the scale of this growth. On April 8, 2026, the application recorded approximately 46,000 downloads on iOS devices within the United States, representing an 87 percent increase compared to the previous day. In contrast, the Android version of the software saw a more modest daily download increase of 3 percent in the U.S. market during the same timeframe.
Accessible via both mobile and web interfaces, Muse Spark represents a major technical advancement over Meta's previous Llama 4 architectures. This deployment is a strategic move to compete directly with industry leaders. To reach this stage, Meta has allocated billions of dollars toward acquiring specialized engineering talent, alongside a massive 14.3 billion dollar financial commitment to Scale AI.
The newly launched architecture processes multimodal inputs, allowing users to interact using text, images, and voice commands. It is engineered to handle diverse functional requirements, from providing health-related information to solving advanced mathematical and scientific problems. Furthermore, the system supports visual programming, enabling individuals to generate functional websites and basic video games through simple text prompts. Meta has also integrated the ability for the core model to deploy secondary autonomous agents to process multi-step user inquiries.
Over the next several weeks, the Muse Spark infrastructure will be integrated into Meta's broader ecosystem, including Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, and the company's smart eyewear products. Sensor Tower analytics reveal that daily active web users for the Meta AI platform in the United States grew by more than 450 percent day-over-day. Furthermore, overall daily web traffic in the U.S. hit an all-time peak on April 8, 2026, marking a 570 percent jump when compared against the daily average recorded over the preceding month.
