A message currently visible on the NextSlide website from founder Ahmed Beshry describes what the startup had set out to build - a tool capable of converting prompts, notes, documents, and research materials into fully formatted, editable presentations. The product was designed to lower the barrier to creating professional visual content, giving users a faster and more intuitive way to communicate ideas through slides.
Mission Alignment Cited as Key Driver
Beshry framed the decision to join OpenAI as a natural extension of the company's founding principles. According to his statement on the NextSlide site, the startup's core ambition was to make visual communication more accessible and to help a broader range of people articulate their ideas with clarity. Caper AI was acquired by grocery delivery platform Instacart in 2021, giving Beshry firsthand experience navigating the transition from independent startup to operating within a larger corporate structure.
